Dutch Rococo Carved Linen Press
The linen press, item 138 in the Baker Collection, is described in the Sotheby's catalog as, "A Dutch Rococo carved mahogany linen press, late 18th century, in two sections: the foliate and ribbon carved crest above a carved mask, over the bombe-form case fitted with a pair of paneled cabinet doors carved with masks and opening to a shelved interior fitted with drawers, the lower section fitted with three drawers over a shaped apron, raised on downswept legs. The upper section with replaced back, restorations and replacements to veneer. Height 8 feet 5 inches; width 5 feet 11 inches; depth 24 1/2 inches. $12,000-18,000.
