Frank L. Burton

1892 - 1964

Frank Burton, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan was born in 1892. Much of his schooling and training was local. He was a capable designer of traditional and modern case goods, tables, upholstered pieces, chairs etc. He designed some pieces for the Berkey & Gay Furniture Company, and later became a freelance designer for companies in Michigan, Texas, and North Carolina. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Furniture Designers Association. The home of Mr. & Mrs. Burton was situated on East Twin Woods Lake, five miles north of Newaygo. For several years the lake was the site of the Furniture Designers Association’s annual summer outings. Mr. Burton Died July 12, 1964.
