John S. Morton

1881 - 1951

A native of Scotland, born in 1881, Morton learned furniture designing under his father, a prominent Glasgow manufacturer. He married in England in 1921 and came to Grand Rapids the following year. He was a designer for John Widdicomb Co., the William A. Berkey Furniture Co., and, in later years, a freelance designer. Mr. Morton died December 8, 1951.
