Hong Ying Lo Restaurant Interior

Hong Ying Lo Restaurant Interior

Murch Morris - 1929 (ca)

The restaurant reflects a Chinese feel through its carved furniture inlaid with ivory, carved decorative valences featuring birds, lanterns, and traditional Chinese watercolor paintings. The small tiles on the floor run in a diagonal pattern. Just behind the chair at the lower right a man's hat sits on the table; perhaps it belongs to the photographer.
