Side Chair, Arts & Crafts Style

1900 ca.

This chair from the Luce Furniture Company is rectangular in shape, and the cane seat tapers from wide in the front to narrower in back. The tapered back has a marquetry inlay on the center back panel, which appears to be a stylized tree motif. The legs are also tapered, and the front legs end in a pedestal style foot. Double stretchers connect the sides and single ones are at the front and back.
