Venetian Scallop Chair
The chair, with a carved shell seat and back and carved multiple ball-turned legs, which decrease in size toward the feet, is sometimes referred to as "Grottoesque". The wood, possibly mahogany.

The chair was purchased by the Museum at auction in 1984.
