Pressed Dowels from the Dowel Press

A close up the dowels showing the ridges impressed on them after they have been run through the Margelis Dowel Press. Above and below the dowel to the far right you can see a portion of the wheel that creates the impressions. The ridges hold the glue applied to the dowels and make for a stronger join.
