George Pike
George Pike was a designer with the John D. Raab company from at least 1910 - 1918, and then worked as a free lance designer.
George Pike was the originator of the designs of the All-American style. The buyers who came to Grand Rapids to view the pieces in the early 1930s conferred the term All-American upon the group of designs.
Assisting Pike in the development of the many pieces were five other artists—Karl F. Schmidt, Henry H. Koster, William Balbach, Sr., E. T. Larkins, and Russell Kirkpatrick. The manufacturers who produced the furniture were all members of the Grand Rapids Furniture Makers Guild. Pike designed all the hardware, of which there were three variations, used on the furniture.
