Alexander W. Hompe

1865 - 1938

Alexander Hompe is credited with being the first of the designers in the local industry to break away from the then existing composite designs. He inaugurated period designs for the Royal Furniture Co. His early training was in architecture, and his first connection with the furniture industry was with John Colby & Sons of Chicago. Born in 1865, he died in April of 1938.
