Grand Rapids city directories only list the company showroom in Grand Rapids from 1948 through 1956. Even though a John Stuart, Inc. catalog speaks of its factory in Grand Rapids, and pieces sold by the company bore its trademark, John Stuart, Inc. seems to have been a high-end designers' showroom for Early English, Georgian, American, and French Revivals and reproductions, as well as Modern residential furniture, made in a number of Grand Rapids factories.
