Fritz Manufacturing Co.

1915 - 1918

A specialty produced by the Fritz Manufacturing Company is furniture for the drafting room. The line includes a specially designed drafting table and blue print cabinets constructed on the sectional idea. Orders for these specialties have been received from the government departments, from many municipal governments, big contractors and architects.

The photographs were contributed by artist Lisa Guckelberg who uses her great grandfather's Fritz drafting table as her desk and workspace. The table legs and base are cast iron; due to the rough condition of its surface the original wooden top was painted a number of years ago to make it usable .

Note: "Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers purchases Fritz Manufacturing company business at Grand Rapids and will go into the manufacture of drafting room equipment on a large scale. Friday, December 8, 1916.” From the Manitowoc Herald-Times, December 8, 1931, p. 4, referencing items "From the Past."
